With formal training from L’Ecole in New York City and over a decade as co-owner and pastry chef of Manhattan’s iconic One If By Land, Two If By Sea, Chef Vera blends time-honored techniques with modern elegance. Every pastry, tart, and croissant is made fresh daily on-site, using locally sourced ingredients and premium imports from France and Italy.

A Story of Passion and Perseverance
Chef Vera’s journey began as a young Albanian immigrant from Montenegro who made New York her home in the 1980s. With a background in both the beauty and culinary arts, she opened Salon Chou Chou next door and later fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a European-style patisserie. Her commitment to excellence, community, and craft is the heart of Arome.
